Who can adjust stock?

Who can adjust stock and when should they use it?

Only an Inventory Manager or Platform Administrator can post a stock adjustment. Use it only for verified damage, wastage or a data correction that cannot be recorded through receiving, transfers, production, sales or stocktake.

Before you start

  • You have checked that the issue is not a missing receipt, transfer, count or production record.

Adjustment reason

Explains why the system balance must be corrected.

Permanent record

Creates an auditable stock movement rather than changing a number silently.

Step by step

    Find the item and location.

  2. 2

    Enter the actual correction quantity and a clear reason.

  3. 3

    Review before posting because the ledger record is permanent.

Watch out

  • Do not use an adjustment for ordinary daily receiving or transfers.
